St Andrews Voices Singing Group

with Robyn Stapleton

21 Aug, 18 Sep, 16 Oct 2019
Hope Park & Martyr's Church, St Andrews

Who is this group for?
The Singing Group is for people with dementia who enjoy singing and who are still able to live at home in the community. The group also provides support for their carer(s).

Who we are?
The St Andrews Voice Festival Outreach Programme aims to bring
opportunities to a range community groups. In these fun and interactive workshops, people come together to socialise and sing, with an emphasis on enjoyment and fun. We will be working together with the existing group at Hope Park Church where there is already a well established dementia support and activity group.

What we do?
We sing together enjoyably and in a relaxed atmosphere for around 45 minutes. There is a singing leader (Robyn Stapleton) who leads musical favourites from throughout the decades, songs from musicals and films and well known Scottish folk songs.

After that we relax for a cuppa and a chat, with a chance to get to know one another and our supportive volunteers.

Our aims?
The Singing Group offers engaging social activities that aim to improve well-being and bring joy and confidence to lives effected by memory problems and dementia.

Volunteers are unhand but those with dementia should be accompanied.

There is no charge for the workshops.
