The Gesualdo Six: Ensemble in Residence

Weavers of rich and plangent aural tapestries’ BBC Music Magazine

The Gesualdo Six is a vocal consort comprised of some of the UK’s finest young consort singers, directed by Owain Park. They released their debut recording, ‘English Motets’, on Hyperion Records in early 2018 and have performed in many festivals in the UK, Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Poland and Monaco. Their
repertoire ranges from early Renaissance music to composers of today.

As part of their St Andrews Voices residency, the group will take part in a range of performance, services and workshops. They will sing as part of the Luxmuralis installation in Holy Trinity Church, performing music by Hildegard von Bingen, Cristóbal de Morales, Owain Park, Alison Willis and Veljo Tormis. Their recordings will also feature in some of the Luxmuralis satellite venues.
